What we meter, and what we don't

Most maritime crew software is quoted on request, which turns budgeting into guesswork until you are three calls deep. We would rather you saw the number first and decided for yourself whether it fits.

We wrote about why quotes vary so much in our guide to maritime payroll software cost.

User accounts are not charged. Add the whole crewing team and the office without watching a seat count.

Seafarer records are not charged either. Storage is the metered resource, so the limit you will actually meet is your GB quota, not your headcount.

Data migration carries a fee, and we waive it on a contract of six months or more. Our team moves your existing crew records, certificates, and vessel data across.

Vessels are not charged. Both plans are flat rate, so the fleet you run and the pool you keep do not move the monthly figure.

FAQ

Common questions

What is the minimum contract length?+
Just one month. All plans are billed monthly with no long-term commitment required.
Can I cancel at any time?+
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time - no penalties, no lock-in. Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
Do you help with onboarding and data migration?+
Yes. We offer free data migration on a 6+ month contract. Our team will transfer your existing crew records, certificates, and vessel data into RiteCrew so you can get started without re-entering everything manually.
Where is my data stored? Are you GDPR-compliant?+
RiteCrew is operated by Rite Software OÜ, registered in Estonia, EU. All data is hosted on encrypted AWS infrastructure within the European Union, with daily automated backups. We are fully GDPR-compliant and follow strict access controls for sensitive crew records including passport details, medical certificates, and payroll data.
What does 'Custom Branded Domain' mean?+
Every plan includes a custom domain name provided for one year at no extra cost. You can use it to access your RiteCrew instance under your own brand (for example, crew.yourcompany.com), or repurpose it as your company's main website domain.
Which plan do I need?+
It depends on how your company works with crew, not on how big you are. If you supply crew to other companies' vessels, that is the Crewing Agency plan. If you operate the vessels and employ the crew aboard them, that is the Vessel Operator plan, which adds vessel planning, crew rotation, and payroll processing on top of everything in the agency plan.
What happens if my fleet grows?+
Nothing changes on the invoice. Both plans are flat rate with no per-vessel multiplier and no per-seafarer fee, so adding vessels or growing your pool does not move the price.
Is there a fee for data migration?+
Yes, and we waive it on contracts of six months or more. Migration covers moving your existing crew records, certificates, contracts, and vessel data into RiteCrew, so nobody on your team is re-typing records by hand.
